This is the new Chiot’s Run and a continuation of my efforts to journal our lives as we cultivate a more meaningful life, through local food, gardening, and so many other things. We used to live in a small suburban neighborhood in Ohio but moved to 153 acres in Liberty, Maine in 2012. We raise chickens, turkeys, ducks, and occasionally pigs. Our gardens have grown each year and we are now able to grow almost 100% of the vegetables for our table.

We are currently in the first phases of planning and building a new home on our property. We are enlisting the help of our friend Mike Maines with this new and exciting project.
I grew up in Colombia, South America, my parents are missionaries that worked in the jungle and various cities in the country. I have a passion for growing and cooking good food. Sewing, reading, and snowshoeing are the hobbies that keep me through the long snowy winters here in Maine. They help keep things balanced, seasonal living can be rich with widely varied experiences.
